Title: Designing and teaching courses for 20-30 students (with a view toward the MAA Instructional Practices Guide)
Abstract: This seminar will consist of a 20-25 minute talk followed by a 25-30 minute discussion. In the talk, I will provide an overview of basic aspects of course design, assessment, and classroom practices, with examples of how to implement these in classes of 20-30 students. This overview will incorporate ideas that are being considered by the writing teams for the MAA Instructional Practices Guide, which is currently in development.
