Dean's Circle 2020 - Student Perspectives

Students spoke about their experiences on campus during the virtual Dean's Circle meeting held Oct. 2, 2020.

  • Sophie Marcolla, a double major in political science and communications with plans to graduate in the spring of 2022.
  • Jade Frazier, a senior majoring in sociology and psychology with a minor in criminology
  • Jon-Michael Watkins, a senior majoring in mathematical economics

The Dean’s Circle is a group of alumni and friends who, with annual leadership giving, demonstrate extraordinary commitment to the University of Kentucky’s College of Arts & Sciences. Dean’s Circle donors help the College and its 19 departments and 7 interdisciplinary programs provide exceptional teaching, innovative research and impactful outreach and service. Because state support is a far lower percentage of our budget than it was in earlier decades, private support must ensure our excellence today and in the future. Dean’s Circle gifts help us recruit and retain top faculty members, support innovation, fuel research, and provide valuable experiences to students through high impact opportunities like education abroad, internships, and living learning programs.
