Title: An Introduction to Tropical Geometry

Abstract: Tropical geometry serves as a bridge between algebraic geometry and combinatorics, allowing difficult algebra problems to be viewed through a more approachable, combinatorial lens. This talk is aimed at those with little to no background in tropical geometry; we will introduce foundational definitions, work through examples, and discuss the types of problems one might solve with tropical geometry.
